Sowore :Police Urge Calm, Confirm AAC Presidential Candidate’s Discharge After Restaurant Incident

The Ekiti State Police Command has urged the public to remain calm and avoid circulating unverified reports capable of causing panic over the incident involving activist Omoyele Sowore.

The command said preliminary findings indicated that Sowore was involved in an altercation with some individuals at a restaurant before police operatives were alerted and responded, rescuing those affected and providing medical assistance.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abutu Sunday, Sowore sustained injuries and was taken to the Police Cottage Hospital in Ado-Ekiti. He and others involved were subsequently treated and discharged, with Sowore leaving the hospital at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday before returning to Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort.

The Commissioner of Police, Falade Adegoroye Michael, has ordered a comprehensive investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.

However, the command disclosed that efforts to obtain Sowore’s formal statement had been unsuccessful, as he reportedly declined several invitations to assist the investigation.
